Hi, I’m Quin,

I do peer consulting for teens and young adults with eating disorders and their families in person, on the phone or virtually. I’m not a licensed therapist so what I do is a bit different. I provide support, coaching and education for peers who are struggling with eating disorders. I generally work with a team- usually a licensed therapist, dietitian, psychiatrist and/or eating coach- providing care for someone who is struggling or could benefit from additional support. I also provide eating disorder education to parents and family members.

Some of the services I offer are:

  • Providing recovery support

  • Help normalize feelings and provide coping tools

  • Answering questions about treatment, what to expect in IOP, PHP, residential treatment or hospitalization

  • Helping clients transition back into their home, school, work after inpatient treatment

  • Crisis counseling

  • Motivational interviewing

  • Support and reinforce psychotherapy work

  • Help develop recovery goals

  • Create plans for change

  • Share my own experiences and tools for recovery

  • Collaborate with providers

  • Walking sessions

  • Packing for treatment

  • Parent updates

  • Visiting hospital/residential levels of care for additional support

  • Clothing shopping support

“It is a great honor and privilege to write this letter of recommendation for Quin- our daughter’s guardian angel. Quin quickly became a mentor to our daughter and has coached her through excruciating challenges.

Quin is one of the most thoughtful, wise, and genuinely empathetic people we have ever known; and it’s all the more impressive that she is only 17 years old.

Throughout our daughter’s recovery journey, Quin demonstrated an exceptional ability to reach out and offer meaningful, effective support when our family struggled with the complexities of her illness.

For anorexics, food is medicine and yet food is exactly what an anorexic tries to avoid. Quin instinctively understood how to motivate our daughter to eat. Moreover, when our daughter was unwilling to go to a recovery center, Quin managed to convinced her to pack her bags and take agency over her recovery.

Through her calm assurance and genuine empathy, Quin convinced our daughter to take crucial steps toward recovery at every phase of the journey. Our daughter is doing much better 6-months later and we will forever credit Quin’s presence.”
